The following research aimed at studying how Thai pop music video portrayed the pattern of love relationship as well as the social construction of reality process in postmodern society. Employing the qualitative research method, the researcher also utilized the concepts of social construction of reality theory, postmodern condition, human alienation, love as a commodity, music video concept and semiology as a conceptual framework for data analysis. The results revealed that there were four patterns of love relationship in postmodern society of Thai popular music video: pseudo pattern, reject pattern, isolate pattern and exchange pattern. With regard to the social construction of reality process in Thai popular music video, the finding could be categorized from seven elements of music video: 1) theme, in which isolate pattern was most district among the four patterns found ; 2) plot, most of which showed that stories were not always with happy endings and which consisted of three conflicting concepts, ie. morality, status and attitude toward love ; 3) characters’ ages, which represented the love relationship of teenagers of 11-15 years, and which showed that, when comparing to men, women seemed to be engaged in love relationship in a shorter period, at the age of 26-30 at most ; 4) characters’ careers, most of which were not identified, resulting in the fact that career was not a barrier to love ; 5) character role and status, which show that males were more passive than females regarding misery, while both were a little active regarding happiness, and this illustrated that love tended to bring misery ; 6) scene, which presented close relationship more in public than in private spheres ; 7) expression of characters, in which, excluding sexual intercourse, there was higher frequency of physical touch occurring more in public than in private spheres.
