SUMMARY
This review provides a brief overview of existing research on clustering, networking and technology partnerships. It illustrates the lack of analytical and policy-oriented work on inter-firm cooperation involving firms from developing countries and the limited attention paid to the needs of the enterprise sector in developing countries and to SMEs. It endeavours to synthesize some policy issues related to the promotion of inter-firm cooperation as a means to foster the development and competitiveness of enterprise. It also identifies a number of other issues for further exploration and action. [in English only]
