The purposes of this research were to compare science academic achievement and science process skill between mathayom suksa two and mathayom two students, and to study their science teachers’ opinion concerning science text books of 1978 curriculum. The science academic achievement test with the reliability of 0.817, the science process skill, test with the reliability of 0.66, and the questionnaire for collecting science teachers’ opionion were administered to the samples. The 300 mathayomsuksa two and 300 mathayom two students from the secondary school in Bangkok and 21 teachers which taught in both levels, were the samples for this study. The data was collected and analyzed by means of the percentage, the arithmetic mean, the standard deviation, and the z-test. The results of the analysis indicated that there were significant differences in science academic achievement and science process skill between mathayomsuksa two and mathayom two students at .01 level. It was also found that the arithmetic mean of the science academic achievement and science process skill of mathayomsuksa two students were higher than of mathayom two students. According to science teachers’ opinion concerning science text books of 1978 curiculum, it might be concluded that these science text books were appropriate to the both level students.
