The purpose of this historical research project is to collect the data about stories and events of the Thai mass media and information during the past 50 years between 1946 to 1996. The result can be concluded as the following: 1.The government and political changes in various period has the major role in determining the content of mass media in the first period during 1946-1987. 2. Economic system and marketing strategies has the major role in determining the content of the mass media in the later period during 1988-1996. 3. The mass media has been enlarged to be mass media industry by monopoly one media to another 4. The media has been divided into more small subject in order to provide more specific content according to the need and interest of each audience group. 5. In entering the age of information in Thailand. Thai people prefer to use new technologies and various forms of information technique.
