Purpose It was the purpose of this study to (1) construct a microteaching model on “A Pre-instructional Technique ” in a videotape as a partial mean of student teachers' skill practice, (2) evaluate the quality and efficiency of the constructed model. Procedure : After relevant informations from various sources was preliminary investigated, a model script was written for the videotape production. The produced one inch videotape was later duplicated to a half inch. Eight validating committee members were appointed to certify the quality of the model. Then, thirty elementary major students, randomly selected as an experimental group, were given the pre-test. After the students had studied from the model, the post-test were given, and the scores were statistically computed and compared at the 0-05 level. Results : Analysis of this experiment allows the following conclusions to be made: (1) The Validating Committee certified the model as " Good ", (2) Significant differences in learning achievement of the sampling group was found at the 0.05 level; therefore it is assumed that each student who had studied the model gained more pre-instructional technique skills. Suggestions : (1) Every teacher education institution in Thailand should establish a microteaching clinic for improving teaching and learning strategies. (2) The competencies of the student teachers or regular teachers using microteaching and simulation models and those who do not use these techniques should be compared. (3) The microteaching models should be later on produced in the form of 16 mm. film, black and white or colour, for more effective and widely uses by the trainees whose access of videotape components are not available.
