The Purposes of the Study 1. To study the level of job satisfaction of university librarians in Thailand. 2. To compare job satisfaction of university librarians in Bangkok with those in other cities. 3. To study factors effecting job satisfaction of university librarians in Thailand. Hypothesis There is no difference between the job satisfaction of university librarians in Central region and the job satisfaction of university librarians. Procedures Population used in the study were 332 university librarians from 14 universities, Questionnaires, were distributed, questionnaires, were returned, Two Hundred and Twenty Six (80.12 percent). The research instrument (questionnaire) was designed to rate the level of the job satisfaction of university librarians, The content included achievement, recognition, the work itself, responsibility, advancement, company policy and administration, interpersonal relations; superior, subordinate, peers, security, working conditions, and salary. Data were analyzed and presented in term of percentages, mode, median and chi-quare (x2) Findings 1. The level of job satisfaction of the university librarians both in Central Region and regional area are found to be high on the following seven factors; (1) achievement, (2) the work itself, (3) responsibility, (4) company policy and administration, (5) interpersonal relations; superior, subordinate, peers, (6) security, (7) working conditions. 2. The level of job satisfaction of the university librarians in Central region and in regional area are not significantly different (at the 0.05 level). 3. The factors effecting the job satisfaction of university librarians are found in the following orders (1) advancement, (2) achievement, (1) recognition, (4) security, (5) the work itself, (6) responsibility, (7) interpersonal relations; superior, subordinate, peers, (8) company polycy and administration, (9) Working conditions, and (10) Salary.
