Purpose of the Study The purpose of this research is to analysis the contemporary Thai verse writers on their various ideas, arts and styles of writing in order to find ways and means to improve the method of teaching versification in the present upper secondary education level. Procedures On the procedures of this research, the researcher: 1. Selected the distinguish works of the contemporary Thai - verse - writers, other than the group analyzed by Miss Naiyana Suthitham. 2. Constructed the questionnaire to inquire 18 acknowledged persons such as Thai language instructors and specialists etc. to give their opinion on the contemporary verse writers together 'if with their works, ranking in the reliability order. 3. Selected the four most popular contemporary verse-writers, gained from the analytical data. 4. Studied and analyzed the works of the four selected writers in the aspects of forms and styles of writing. 5. Compared ideas, forms and styles of this contemporary group and the group analyzed by Miss Naiyana Suthitham. 6. Studied the secondary school curriculum concerning with the teaching of versification. 7. Proposed the methods of teaching versification in the secondary school level according to the result of this analysis. Results 1. The four selected Thai-verse-writers were; " Teepakorn, '' " Naowarat Pongpaiboon,” " Jintana Pinchaliew” and “Taweepworn." 2. The result of this analysis indicated that these four contemporary Thai-verse-writers were much different in their ideas of various things. However, they had similar opinions on social circumstances, politics and the way to improve our societies. They still used the tradition forms of writing. Nevertheless some had made some changes in their forms of writing for example:- using unlimited words or unstricted rhyme scheme. Some even use different kinds of versification in the same writing such as adapting the folk songs or the versification of the old literary works integrated with their new ideas. Their choices of words used in their works are widely various. There were straightness, tenderness, satire or even rudeness found in their works. Most of their works were both concerning with Arts for Art's Sake " and " Arts for Life " containing in their writing. Their writing styles also emphasized and reflected social political images in various dimensions. There were many more different ideas being discussed among this group of contemporary Thai-verse-writers other than the group, analyzed by Miss Naiyana Suthithum. Recommendation The researcher had also studied Thai language curriculum concerning with the teaching of versification writing in the secondary school and suggested on the teaching of versification in the following item:- the basic knowledge of versification, teaching procedures of the versification emphasised on selecting of the words, studying of ideas and styles of the wellknown verse-writers, arranging the order of ideas and thoughts, selecting the patterns of words according to contents, using of the verse, giving the prelude, ending of the verse, giving the title, activities and teaching aids and evaluation.
