Objectives 1. To produce four video-tapes for group interaction training to be used with civil servants from level 3 on. 2. To produce manuals for trainers and manuals for trainees. 3. To determine the effectiveness of the four video-tapes which have been produced. 4. To develop methodologies and models in producing and utilizing the video-tapes for group interaction training. Research procedures Stage 1. : Preparation stage. The researchers set up the research plan selected the contents for four video-tapes according to the set criteria Stage 2. : Production of video-tapes. The researchers consulted experts in script writing and collected the cases related to the selected contents. The scripts for four video-tapes were written and revised with the help of experts and consultants. When the scripts were ready, the researchers coordinated with approximately 70 related people such as artists, technicians, players and other helpers. Finally, with the cooperation and help from many people and institutions, the four video-tapes were produced. Stage 3. : Production of tests and manuals. The researchers developed six sets of tests which cover the objectives and contents of each video-tape produced. The tests have been tried out and revised several times. The reliability of each test was determined from the data collected from the pre and post tests done by the experimental groups. Manuals for trainers and trainees were developed with the purpose of helping the users of the video-tapes gain maximum benefits from them. All manuals have been tried out and revised several times. Stage 4. : Determining the effectiveness of video-tapes. The researchers tried out with 423 civil servants from level 3-6. The experimental subjects were asked to do pre and post tests before and after the presentation of the tapes. The data from the tests were analyzed. T-tests were used to determine the level of effectiveness of the four video-tapes produced. Stage 5. : Presentation of methodologies and models of "Production and Utilization of video-tapes for group interaction training." The researchers examined the plans, methods, processes that have been used for this production. Then the data were synthesized and concluded and presented in two models-A Model for the production of video-tapes for group interaction training, and A Model for the utilization of video-tapes for group interaction training. Results 1. Based on the procedures above, the researchers were able to produce 1.1 Four video-tapes (video-cassette, U-matic) as follows : 1.1.1 Video-Tape on "Human Relations at Work" (43 minutes) 1.1.2 Video-Tape on "Leadership Styles" (28 minutes) 1.1.3 Video-Tape on "Group Roles" (40 minutes) 1.1.4 Video-Tape on "Skills in Leading Discussion" (45 minutes) 1.2 Manuals for trainers in using the four video-tapes. 1.3 Manuals for trainees in learning from the four video-tapes. 1.4 A book of four scripts. 1.5 A model for the production of video-tapes for group interaction training. 1.6 A model for the utilization of video-tapes for group interactiontraining. 2. The four video-tapes produced from the project were proven to be effective in helping the learners improve their learning since the data indicated that the average score of the post-test of every sample group was higher than the average score of the pre-test and there was a significant difference at the level of .001 between the average score of the pre-test and post-test of every group who learned from the video-tapes "Human Relations at Work", "Leadership Styles" and "Skills in Leading Discussion." For the group who learned from the video-tape "Group Roles", the average scorcs of the pre-test and post-test were significantly different at the level of .01.
