This independent study aims for studying the possibilities of establishing a specialty chocolate retail shop under the name 'The Chocolate Parade' where ready-made and homemade chocolates are available under DIY style. The target is customer satisfaction under "the happiness designed by you" idea. The shop is to be located at Central World. This study comprises of analysis of internal and external factors, customers' behavior and other components that influence the target customers decision. The questionnaire is used to study consumers’ behavior and factors influencing their decision. The feasibility study term of marketing, operations and financial opportunities is also conducted. The marketing studies show the potential for establishing a specialty chocolate retail where ready-made and home-made are being offered to respond to customer's need at Central World. The demand in the market is considered high in both benefit and giving senses. Although the place would generate moderate profit as this specialty retail is quite new in Thailand market, it responds to all range of customers and should draw lots of customer traffic to the shop which is the key success in this business. On Operational wise, the analysis indicates that it is quite possible since there are several chocolate distributors or importers and they have already established the distribution channels to reach the target customers, especially proposing a better compromising terms and conditions than other major traders which will enable the chocolate retail shop to be profitable. On Financial aspect, the study shows the financial possibility which is reflected from the return rate of this project. We found that the project NPV is positive and IRR is higher than the discount rate, and the breakeven point is at where we have set at the normal situation. The project has the net present value of THB 772,932.04, return from investing at 28% and the breakeven point is at 3 years 3 months. In conclusion, the chocolate specialty retail shop project at Central World has the potential for an investment on marketing, operational and financial wise with a high possibility for a business expansion in the future.
