The purpose of this research was to compare the Mathayom Suksa One student's social studies learning achievement on “the prosperity of Sukhothai Kingdom” by programmed slide-tape instruction between group nd individualized instruction. Two groups of Mathayom Suksa One students in the academic year 1981, at Saparachinee School, Trang Province, 39 each, were selected as samples. They were equated by their Mathayom Suksa One admission test scores in which there was no significant difference at the .05 level. The two groups were instructed by using the programmed slide-tape on “the prosperity of Sukhothai Kingdom” constructed by the researcher. The controlled group was instructed in group while the experimental group was individualized instructed. Then, the learning achievement of both groups were determined by the achievement test constructed by the researcher. The results of both groups were compared by t-test. There was no significant difference in the social studies learning achievement of the controlled group and the experimental group at the .05 level.
