SUMMARY

As a contribution to the preparatory process for the final review and appraisal of the UN-NADAF, this report reviews Africa's development in the 1990s, analyses domestic and external impediments to faster growth and sustainable development in Africa, and discusses policy options for enhancing development in Africa and reducing poverty by half by 2015.
