The purpose of this research was to investigate the impact of answer sheets with colors and marking patterns on answer sheet upon test scores and reliability of the test. The sample used in this research consisted of 660 Mathayomsuksa three students at Satri-Phuket School and Phuket-Wittayalai School. The Thai Language Reading Comprehension Aptitude Test available from the Educational Research [Department], Faculty of Education, was administered to the sample. The obtained data were computed and analyzed by two way analysis of variance. The reliability of the test was computed by the Kuder-Richardson Formula 20. The Fisher’s Z transformation was employed in comparing the reliability of the test by using answer sheet with different colors and marking patterns. The results of the study were : 1. The obtained scores were not significantly different at the .05 level among the three colors of answer sheets (blue, white and pink), and the four types of making patterns on answer sheet (circle the correct answer, cross the correct answer, tint solid lines in the horizontal rectangle () of the correct answer, and tint the solid lines in the vertical rectangle () of the correct answer). The interaction between the three colors of answer sheet and the four marking patterns on answer sheet was also not significant at the .05 level. However, using pink answer sheets and tinting solid lines in the horizontal rectangle () yielded the lowest mean score (18.8585), while using white answer sheets and tinting solid lines in the horizontal rectangle () yielded the highest mean score (21.4000) 2. The reliability coefficients obtained by blue, pink and white answer sheets were .656, .724, and .729, respectively. However, these reliability coefficients were not significantly different at the .05 level. 3. The reliability coefficients obtained by crossing the correct answer, tinting solid lines in the vertical rectangle () of the correct answer, circling the correct answer, and tinting solid lines in the horizontal rectangle () of the correct answer were .649, .664, .736 and .751, respectively. Unfortunately, these reliability coefficients were not significantly different at the .05 level.
