Thailand food industry is the world leading food producer which can supply varieties of foods to both domestic and international market; moreover, the livestock product such as pork is also a part of food industry. In 2017, Thai farmers can produce and supply pigs to the market up to 8,000 per day. So, the annual production capacity of pigs is approximately 8 million. However, the domestic selling price of pigs is fluctuated as the amount of locally produced pigs is more than the local consumption demand which leads to the selling price of pigs at farms drop dramatically. Hence, the pig farmers need to expand the sales channels for maintaining the profits in the business. Hong Kong is the second largest market for Thai pork; however, the percentage of growth in exporting pork is the number one of the pork exporting rank. Pork is the most popular meat for Hong Kong people. However, with the limitation of land area, Hong Kong pig farmers cannot supply pigs to the market as much as the demand in the domestic market, so Hong Kong has to rely on the food import from other countries. The objective of this study is to analyze the business environment of exporting pork products to Hong Kong as well as the feasibility of export channels of pork products for Thai local farmers and suppliers. Moreover, the competitive advantages among the pork exporters will be analyzed. Eventually, the business plan of export pork products to Hong Kong market will be developed for pig farmers in Thailand.
