SUMMARY
This research is a comparative study about healthy food consumption of people living in Bangkok and Singapore. This study aim to compare the similarities and the differences in healthy food consumption behaviour between people living in Bangkok and Singapore. The sample was people living in Bangkok and Singapore, 200 samples for each city and total sample is 400. The questionnaires was distributed via internet survey website and the results analysed using Excel.
The results of the study shows that people from both Bangkok and Singapore think eating healthy is important. From the result, the similarities of both people from Bangkok and Singapore is that they usually buy healthy food from supermarket and always read the nutrition label on the product, also the most important factors consider when purchase is health benefit and in the next 6 months they will eat more healthy foods. For the differences between the 2 groups subject, people in Bangkok are buying healthy food more frequent than people in Singapore.
And people in Bangkok prefer vegetables and fruits while people in Singapore prefer balanced diet. For healthy food service, people in Bangkok prefer take-away, while people in Singapore prefer delivery with online based. Factor that influences purchase decision are also different, for people in Bangkok is social network but people in Singapore are friends. Both group do some research on healthy food information but from different sources, social network for people in Bangkok and internet for people in Singapore. Producer and manufacturer should develop and increase services in order to meet the need of people in different country.
