Camellia Tea Seed Oil Project at Tea Oil Research Institute, under the Chaipattana Foundation in Chiangrai Province, is established to support local residents for developing their operation’s capability and to be the model of cold pressing Camellia Tea Seed Oil production and also to transfer the knowledge to local communities, organizations and visitors. Besides, the institute operates as a manufacture producing Camellia Tea Seed Oil and also its products, such as Camellia tea seed oil cosmetics and T-saponin. The objective of Institute is to develop the high quality oil for Thai’s consumptions and to help local residents to gain the income. Furthermore, planting the Camellia Tea also maintains moisture in soil but well-drained which is useful for preventing the flooding and deforesting problem. However, Camellia Oil is not the well-known consumer’s product like Olive Oil, Coconut Oil or Sunflower Oil. Most of Camellia Oil’s consumers are people who live in Chiangrai or tourists who visit in the institute. For these reasons, the purpose of this independent study is to develop a business plan for promoting Camellia Oil product to the broad market and it will be consumed widely by customers. The plan will also help the local residents to develop their knowledge, improve the quality of life in their community, and can live by their own in the long run. Finally, the institute will be able to run this sustainable business by selling their products without the funding from Chaipattana Foundation.
