The purpose of this research is to investigate the utilization of palm as media in colaescer systems for treating oil emulsion dispersions from wastewater. The coalecer in this experiment was a glass tube 10 cm. in length and 2.54 cm. diameter, packed with palm fiber or resin as coalescing media. This experiments were conducted in continuous flow system.The initial concentration of oil in water emulsion was in the range between 500 to 2000 mg/l. The flow velocity was 0.1 to 0.5 centrimeter per second. The results showed that the media of coalecer was efficiency to coalescence oil droplet from small to large droplet. Fiber media was efficiency to demulsifier oil palm and biodiesel in wastewater. The rates of demulsification for oil palm emulsion of media coalescer (80%) were higher than non media coalescer (24%). The rates of demulsification for biodiesel emulsion of media coalesce was 50% and non media coalesce was 30%.At higher flow velocity the system efficiency than lower flow velocity.
