QR-code is a 2 dimension quick response code used to compliment to data base system to maximize the access of interactive data calling. This coding system provides several advantages including its small size but accessible to contain large data input, its rapid readable performance, its small memory demanding, its code readable even its condition was damaged to 30% level, and, more importance, its linkable to mobile phone accession. The use of QR code involves with an establishment of database, a translation of the data records to relate with internet accession, a design of data calling pattern, a web page construction, a translation to QR code matrix and a accession test. Our studies revealed the feasibility to apply QR code to facilitate the control and management of information for food quality and safety. Initial model for QR code application was created to facilitate the control and management of information for health supplemented food products by collecting data up to 7314 records and creating the database that accessable online through internet interactive. Via Keywa Reader for code reading directive, consumer can simply access data on raw materials used, assuring data, general scientific fact and the related warning information through the mobile phone. The demonstration at Co-op Shop at Chulalongkorn University showed the system performance that was easy to use, however, the system still faced the restriction for open application due to the data limitation not covering to real products available on the market and the limitation of Thai Law not allowing to distribute any data that might relate with product's advertisement. The adjustment of the contents by sharing the knowledge among project staff, the authorized Thai FDA and the product owner would help for expanding this application. The expanding of QR code application was also demonstrated for the communication of EUrep GA P.™ (Global GAP.) quality and safety assuring of mango for export. Mango is an indigenous and important fruit crop of Thailand. The quality and safety assurance in mango after export is one of the promising strategic ways to maintain good quality reputation with high standard for Thai mango product in long run. In order to communicate quality and safety information during production and post harvesting to consumers, 2-dimension code was applied for high quality production by mango growers in Wang Tong district, Phitsanulok province during 2009-1 0 crop year. Database for quality and safety assurance and post harvest physiological data were established in interactive inferring format allowing customers as the end users to access quality information through 2-dimension code based via their mobile phone at their buying point. This strengthens the potential in quality assurance at post harvesting in real-time conditions without distance restriction. Moreover, our project expanded the application of QR code for local durian cultivar authentication. By collecting the bio data of local durian cultivars especially the botanical characteristics, their unique properties, and their fruit qualities, ithe online platform was established in form of 2 dimension code oriented accession. Consumer can access the communication data on cultivar authentication and it assurance simply. For the application of QR code for children snack foods, we had investigated the nutritional contents from their labeling especially the content of lipid, carbohydrate in sugar and related sweeten, salt and unsuitable food additives as recommended by nutrition scientist. Data of children snack foods were collected and database was established using Microsoft Access software in the interactive inferring format allowing customers as the end users to access quality information through 2-dimension code based via their mobile phone. This allows consumer to access safety data and warning for children snack foods. Distribution of the use of system was carried out via internet linked with Food for Change website.
