The purpose of this quasi-experimental research using the pretest-posttest design were: 1) to compare aggressive behavior of children with autism before and after using the behavior therapy, and 2) to compare aggressive behavior of children with autism using the behavior therapy and those who received regular caring activities. Forty children with autism receiving services in outpatient department Rajanukul Institute, who met the inclusion criteria, were matched pair and then randomly assigned to experimental group and control group, 20 subjects in each group. The experimental group received using the behavior therapy program for 4 weeks. The control group received regular caring activities. Research instruments were: 1) behavior therapy in children with autism manual for nurse 2) manual for caregivers on behavior therapy 3) aggressive behavior assessment scale 4) capability of behavior therapy measurement for caregiver 5) personal data questionnaire. All instruments were content validated by a panel of 5 professional experts. The reliability of aggressive behavior assessment scale were .80, .85, .86, .90 and .95 respectively, and the capability of behavior therapy measurement for caregivers was 0.71. The t-test was used in data analysis. Major findings were as follows: 1. The functioning of aggressive behavior of children with autism after using the behavior therapy was significantly lower than those before, at the .05 level. 2. The functioning of aggressive behavior of children with autism who received behavior therapy was significantly lower than those who received regular caring activities, at the .05 level.
