ปัจจัยคัดสรรที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับภาวะทุพพลภาพของผู้ป่วยโรคซืมเศร้าวัยสูงอายุ / นภา จิรัฐจินตนา = Selected factors related to disability among older persons with major depressive disorder / Napa Jiratjintana
Disability to depressive led to suffering and severity of depression. The purpose of this study was to assess disability and to examine relationships and predicting factors among age, gender , chronic illness, severity of depression, social support and disability of older persons with major depressive disorder. A convenience sample of 144 older persons with depressive disorder was recruited from outpatient clinic at Somdet Chaophaya Institute Psychiatry, Galya Rajanagarindra Institute and Srithanya hospital. The instruments were the personal questionnaire, Thai Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (Thai-HRSD), The personal resource questionnaire: Part II (Thai-PRQ part II) and Late- Life Disability Instrument (Thai-LLDI). The content validity index of Thai-PRQ part II and Thai-LLDI was .91 and .93 respectively and the Cronbach’s alpha reliability of Thai-HRSD, Thai-PRQ part II and Thai-LLDI was .83 .87 and .89 respectively. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation, Point Biserial Correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression.
The results revealed that participants had the mild level of disability (X bar =46.35 ±SD = 13.9). Age, severity of depression were positively significant correlation with disability (r = .275, r = .395, p< .01 respectively). Social support was negatively significant correlation with disability (r = -.478, p<.01). Social support, age and severity of depression were 34.0% explained (R² = .34) of variances of disability among older persons major depressive disorder. Findings suggested that providing appropriate social support with specific age and severity of depression in nursing care plan.
