Introduction: There are no psychometrically validated assessment scales designed to solely and specifically evaluate satisfaction with the nurse job satisfaction in private hospitals, Bangkok metropolis. Aim. To develops and psychometrically analyzes the nurse job satisfaction. Methods. The questionnaire was developed through the semi-structure interview by expert. An exploratory methodology study was conducted on 325 nurses in private hospitals, Bangkok metropolis. The content validity of overall scale was approved by the expert with CVI .89. The reliability was 0.92 .Subsequently, the psychometric properties were confirmed in the known - group technique to determine the consistency of the assessment scale the score to assess the construct validity were analyzed using t-test, Independent. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was finally tested
Research findings were as follows: The factor analysis found an eight-factor model, the job satisfaction of nurse in private hospital were composed of 8 dimensions: 1) Co-workers 2) Work on present job 3) Work life balance 4) Work environment 5) Supportive leadership 6) Professional opportunities 7) Pay 8) Benefits. Described 40 items, accounted for 67.580 % of total variance 2. Construct validity testing showed p-value (sig=.000) significantly between group t-test. 3. Internal consistency testing showed very good level. (alpha = .96)
Conclusion: The research findings provide strong evidence of validity and reliability of the nurse job satisfaction scale and the research provides appropriate scale for use in nursing professional in private sector, Bangkok metropolis setting.
