This study was a survey research. The objectives of the research was to study web 2.0 technology uses of state university libraries, in terms of objectives, factors affecting the decision making to use web 2.0 technology, types of web 2.0 technology and work that were used, management of the uses and problems encountered as well as web 2.0 technology needs of state university libraries, in terms of types of web 2.0 technology and work that were needed to use. Questionnaires were used to collect data from 77 directors / heads / librarians that were responsible for web 2.0 uses in 77 state university libraries. The research results are as follows: the majority of state university libraries use web 2.0 technology. Most of them use it for dissemination of library news and activities, announcement in organization, and knowledge management. Capability and usefulness of technology are the factors receiving the highest mean scores for factors affecting the decision making to use web 2.0 technology. Most state university libraries use instant messaging for communication. In regard to management of the uses, the majority of state university libraries do not have the policy relevant to web 2.0 technology uses, do not allocate any budget for the uses, and do not evaluate the uses, both by library users and library staff. However, they promote the uses both externally and internally. Concerning the problems the state university libraries encounter, the problem which receives the highest mean scores is that library staff are lack of the knowledge and skills on web 2.0 technology. Moreover, most state university libraries need to use instant messaging and blog. They need to use instant messaging for reference service and need to use blog for current awareness service.
