Co-digestion of Food Waste and Sewage Sludge by Two-stage Anaerobic Digester for Biogas Production. Two-stage system are acid phase reactor and methane phase reactor. This research has been studied ratios of food waste with wastewater sludge (FW/WS) in laboratory scale prior to starting at hydraulic retention time (HRT) our pilot-scale system. The results FW/WS ratios of 1:1 3:1 5:1 7:1 and food waste only in lab scale showed that efficiency of chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal was in the range of 87.99-90.37 percents, total solids (TS) removal was in the range of 68.87-74.83 percents, total volatile solids (TVS) removal was in the range of 70.09-77.89 percents and suspended solids (SS) removal was in the range of 71.27-81.96 percents. At FW/WS ratio 7:1 gave highest efficiency of COD removal was 90.16 percents. Total gas production was 1,504 ml/d and percentage of methane content was 60.4 percents. Pilot-scale system, When decreasing hydraulic retention time (HRT) of 24 19 and 16 days. The results show that efficiency of COD removal was in the range of 85.42-88.67 percents, TS removal was in the range of 68.03-73.11 percents, TVS removal was in the range of 71.03-73.68 percents and SS removal was in the range of 69.52-71.94 percents. At HRT 24 days gave highest efficiency of COD removal was 88.67 percents. Total gas production was 1,029.17 l/d and percentage of methane content was 64.3 percents. AT HRT of 12 days efficiency of COD removal was 87.40 percents. But gave the highest of total gas production 1,704.59 l/d. and percentage of methane content was 48.4 percents.
