To study (1) the contents along with musical concepts of Christina Aguilera’s musical profile, and (2) the means whereby these concepts are communicated to the audience. The methodologies are employed contents analysis of all Christina Aguilera’s works from 1998 to present (March 2010), in-depth interviews of 5 Christina’s fans selected from the official Christina Aguilera’s fansite in Thailand (http://forums.christinath.com), and a survey of audience’s reception about Christina’s works from 100 Christina’s fans through questionnaires. Christina Aguilera’s musical profile can be distinguished to 4 eras i.e. (1) Teenpop Era , (2) ‘Stripped’ Era , (3) ‘Back to Basics’ Era , and (4) ‘Bionic’ Era. Each era is represented by a studio album that was created in accordance with a tightly designed musical concept. The content of each album will reflect her emotion and worldview at different stages of her life. Also, Christina adopted new “alter egos” for each of her studio albums. They are her musical personas on which her musical creations and representation are based. In terms of the audience’s reception of her works, the listener tends to rate the album that keeps up with a mainstream musical trend higher than the one that is trying to break away from it. However, they also stress on the importance of a musical album as a portrayal of the artist’s identity and worldview. As a result, the ‘Christina Aguilera’ album came bottom on the favorite list even though it is the most popular and the most mainstream works.
