To (1) examine contents of entertainment news on Thai television (2) study the presentation of entertainment news on Thai Television (3) study the audience’s perception of content and presentation of entertainment news on Thai television by using audience’s uses and gratification theory as conceptual framework for audience’s perception analyzing. The research, using entertainment news concepts, has studied in 23 major entertainment news programs on Thai free TV from April 1-30, 2009. Questionnaires test asking and depth interview, conducted to purposive selected target audiences who watch entertainment news, had revealed in 40 persons between 15 - 60 years by age. Major Study found that (1)Content of entertainment news on Thai television can divided into 4 categories; 1. Drama behind the scene contents 2. TV station’s program public relations contents 3. Music, arts and cultural events contents 4. Stars lifestyle contents (2) Methods of entertainment news presentation could defined in 3 ways; 1. By using master of ceremonies (mc) perform as a major host with reporters and composition of audio video graphics insertions 2. By using the news scoop; exclusive interview, special report, and news situation analysis 3. By using major news program tie-in and excluded major news program presentation. (3) The Factors control determining audience’s perception on content and presentation of entertainment news on Thai television found that the audience perceive differential content and presentation from the factors of economic and education background, media habits background, personal socio-mental mind background, and personal’s preference in master of ceremonies (mc) and program format. Audience benefits from news entertainment usage had found in 3 elements; 1. Self In-trend information update 2. Social Relations-talk with friend and family membership 3. Self-entertainment, time-using to relief loneliness.
