The purpose of this research was intended to develop Thai language reading ability by using Four-Blocks Approach for prathom suksa six students. The subject included 25 students of prathom suksa six in the academic year of 2003 from Mahawilanuwat School. The research had tried out the teaching of reading comprehension through utilizing 8-week Four-Blocks Approach which was composed of Self-Selected Reading, Guided Reading, Working with Words and Writing. The research instrument was the Thai language reading ability test. The data were were analyzed by using arithmetic mean, standard deviation and t-test dependent. The results of this research indicated as follows: 1. The post-test arithmetic mean score of Thai language reading ability of prathom suksa six students was higher than the pre-test at the .05 level of significance. 2. The post-test arithmetic mean score of Thai language reading ability of prathom suksa six students was higher than the stipules criterion score. That was higher than fourteen percent of the arithmetic mean score in the pre-experiment at the .05 level of significance. 3. The post-test arithmetic mean score of Thai language reading comprehension ability of prathom suksa six students was higher than the pre-test at the .05 level of significance. 4. The post-test arithmetic mean score of Thai language reading comprehension ability of prathom suksa six students was higher than the stipules criterion score. That was higher than fifteen percent of the arithmetic mean score in the pre-exeriment at the .05 level of significance. 5. The post-test arithmetic mean score of summarizing ability of prathom suksa six students was higher than the pre-test at the .05 level of significance. 6. The post-test arithmetic mean score of summarizing ability of prathom six students was higher than the stipules criterion score. That was higher than twelve ercent of the arithmetic mean score in the pre-experiment at the .05 level of significance.
