The objective of this thesis is to propose an initial report and guidelines for the restoration of King Narai Period buildings in WatTongpuLopburi Province. Hereby, the typology, structure, and physical condition of the buildings as follow have been studied and analyzed : the Consecration Hall, the Dark Monastery, the Western Monastery, and theSubsidiary Chapel. In the methodology of research, general features and distinctive characteristics of selected buildings from the same period were recorded and studied, also measurement work of the stated buildings in WatTongpu had been taken in order to acquire information for data synthesis and determine proper alternatives as primary guidelines of the restoration. The study highlights important building deterioration as, the collapse of roof structure, uneven foundation settlement, rising damp and modification of building elements. Therefore, a proposal for each building’s configuration as at it’s original state and alternatives for repair in various parts of building such as damaged pediment and cracks, also the establishment of damp courses in the walls were introduced. However, the suggestion has been made that the restoration should be carried out only as high concerns the originality of architectural configuration and construction details, except for damage causing severe impact on the building stability, life safety or if no other solutions are considered appropriate, the least perceptible alteration would be allowed.
