The purpose of this research was to study the effects of presentation formats of picture and text in web-based lesson on plant upon learning achievement and retention of mathayom suksa three students with different cognitive styles. The samples were 90 students of Rachwinit Mathayom School in Bangkok 1 They were given the Group Embeded Figures Test (GEFT) to measure field dependence/ independence and randomly divided into SIX experimental groups, each group consisted of 15 students as follows: (1) students with FI studying the presentation format of single picture with full text, (2) students with FI studying the presentation format of all pictures with partial text, (3) students with FI studying the presentation format of all pictures with full text, (4) students with FD studying the presentation format of single picture with full text, (5) students with FD studying the presentation format of all pictures with partial text, and (6) students with FD studying the presentation format of all pictures with full text. The collected data were analyzed using Two - Way Analysis of Variance. The results were as the follows : 1. There was no statistically significant difference at 0.05 level on learning achievement and retention of students learning from web-based lesson with different presentation formats of picture and text. 2. There was statistically significant difference at 0.05 level on learning achievement and retention of students with different cognitive styles learning from web-based lesson . 3. There was no interaction between cognitive styles and presentation formats of picture and text in web-based lesson upon achievement and retention .
