การเปรียบเทียบจังหวะภาษาไทยในการพูดของผู้พูดที่ใช้หลอดลม-หลอดอาหาร กับการพูดของผู้พูดปกติ / ญาณินท์ สวนะคุณานนท์ = A comparison of rhythm in Thai tracheoesophageal and normal speech / Yanin Sawanakunanon
This research aims to compare rhythm in the connected speech of Thai tracheoesophageal and normal speakers in rhythmic unit structure, rhythmic unit length and syllable quantities. The data were collected from three tracheoesophageal and three normal speakers. All informants were of the same age, educational background and size. In order to get connected speech from the informants, they were asked to tell stories. Five-minute samples of fluent speech were selected for each informant. To identify rhythmic units, the utterances were analyzed auditorily. The duration of each rhythmic unit was measured, as well as the duration of each syllable within it. The results show that rhythmic unit structures of the two groups of informants are the same. There are four types of rhythmic unit with structures of the type /P0-3. All rhythmic units in tracheoesophageal speakers are longer than in normal speakers; however, the difference is not statistically significant. Syllable quantities are found to be similar in both groups. The first syllable, which is stressed, occupies the greatest portion of the rhythmic unit. The rest of the syllables in each rhythmic unit are all weak and approximately equal.
