The purpose of this descriptive study was to explore the opinions of managers and safety officers toward the health examination programs in cold room's industries. The study was conducted during August and December 2002 by mailing questionnaires to 306 managers and safety officers. The response rate was 70.6%. Data were analysed for percent, mean, median, standard deviation and compared the difference of opinion level by Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H test. Data from questionnaires revealed that the mean age of the managers was 33.81 years. Most managers were male (87.0%), 93.59% had a bachelor degree and the mean of their employment duration was 3.9 years. The mean age of the safety officers was 29.1 years. Most safety officers were male (85.2%), 93.5% had a bachelor degree and the mean of their employment duration was 3.2 years. All 216 managers and safety officers agreed to the health examination programs in cold room's industries in the future. No factors were related to the opinions of managers and safety officers. The differences of the opinion between managers and safety officers were significant (p<0.01) in general health check up, urine analysis, blood cholesterol, blood glucose, electrocardiogram and chest X-ray. Most managers and safety officers agree to the health examination programs in cold room's industries in the future but it ought to be necessary and proper for individual employee.
