This research is aimed to design an image processing system for improving the radiographic image quality using DSP technique. An image signal was converted to a digital signal by 8 bit flash ADC with a sampling rate of 5 MHz. The TMS320C31 chip was applied for controlling an image data signal communication between ADC and Dual port RAM at an image resolution of 122x267 pixels. The 2 type of image processing technique : high pass filter method and Sobel edge detection method were employed for image quality improving, both sharpness and contrast. The industrial radiographic image signal was tested and found that the contrast ratio of the same image signal were 40% and 80% , increased while the image resolution using edge spread function testing method gave the resolution value at 1.5 mm and 0.5 mm, respectively.
