This cross sectional descriptive study aimed to explore the stress, knowledge, attitude and practices toward the supervisory system among advisory teachers in secondary school general education department in Prachinburi and their related factors. The subjects were 425 advisory teachers. Data collection was done by using self reported questionnaire. Research instruments were the questionnaires to collect demographic data, The Muadsly Personality Interventory (MPI), KAP (Knowledge/Attitude/Practice) upon supervisory system questionnaire and general health questionnaire 12(GHQ 12) to assess for stress. Data was analyzed by using SPSS software for percentage, Mean, standard deviation. Chi-square test, ANOVA and Pearson product moment correlation coefficient were performed to demonstrate the associated factors. Multivariate analysis was done to show the predictor for stress and KAP in this population. The major findings were as the following. 39.76% of subjects were under stressed. Knowledges, attitudes and practices toward the supervisory system were in moderate level. Personal factors such as age more than 40 years old, marriage duration of work experience more than 21 years, income per month between 10,001-20,000 bahts, no part time job, history of psychiatric illness, family history of psychiatric illness and the introversion trait of MPI were significantly related with stress. Attitude and practice toward the supervisory system were negatively correlated with stress at p<.01 and .05 respectively. History of psychiatric illness and the introversion trait of MPI were significantly associated with knowledges toward supervisory system (p<.05). Female advisory teachers, age more than 40 years old and the introversion trait of MPI were significantly associated with attitudes toward supervisory system (p<.05, .01 respectively). Duration of work experience more than 21 years, training experience and the stability trait of MPI were significantly associated with practices toward supervisory system (p<.01). Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed than the predictors for stress were age, duration of work experience and history of psychiatric illness. (p<.01)
