This research concerns quality control systemization for knock-downfurniture industry. The objective of this research is to present a suitabledesigning and implementing of quality control system for a selectedfactory. In preliminary survey, it was found that the factory had notimplemented an efficient quality control system. As a result, there werelosses due to reclaiming in the form of nonconforming products andin-process defective parts, which had to be reproduced or scraped. The study proposes an appropriate designing and implementing ofquality control system for the illustrated factory based on its potentialcapability covering 5 steps as follows: 1. Establishing a structure of quality control organization with jobdescriptions. 2. Designing and implementing a quality control system for materialsor incoming parts. 3. Desianing and implementing a quality control system forin-process parts. 4. Designing and implementing a quality control system for finalproducts. 5. Designing quality records and document forms. After implementation, it was found that the procedures for operationsof the quality control system are consistent and systematic. The supplierof incoming materials paid more attention about their products; therefore, the reclaiming materials were significantly decreased. The study alsoshowed the decreasing in in-process defective parts approximately by 7-8percent, and also the reclaiming nonconforming products were significantlydecreased.
