การศึกษาการจัดโครงการสอนเด็กเจ็บป่วยเรื้อรังในโรงพยาบาล / พรพิมล จงเป็นสุขเลิศ = A study of the organization of instructional programs for young chronically ill in-patient children / Pornpimon Jongpensuklerts
The purpose of this research was to study the state and problems of the organization of instructional programs for young chronically ill in-patient children. The samples were 2 administrators from the division of education for the handicapped, who were the heads of the program, 14 doctors taking care of the chronically ill patients, 15 special education teachers, 14 nurses and 35 parents all involved in the program organization of the 7 hospitals during December, 1999-September, 2000. The data were collected by means of interview, observation and documentary study. The results were, regarding background and policy of program foundation, all had been initiated by the medical professions at the hospitals. The programs were conducted with cooperation between the division of education for the handicapped and each hospital. The hospitals provided the room and furniture while the division of education for the handicapped provided special education teachers. Concerning personnel and personnel management, the division of education for the haddicapped was the adminstrators at the top rank level and monitored their teacher through their monitoring schools. The administrators at the field were the directors of the hospitals or deans of faculty of medicine and the doctors, who were the heads of the program, monitored the program performance. The students in the program, ranging 3-13 years old, most of whom were having heart diseases, blood diseases, leukemia and nephrotic syndrome. The procedures of the program organization in each hospital included detecting and bringing the children into the program by doctors, nurses, hospital officers or special education teachers ; organizing instruction by the special education teachers ; cooperation between special education teachers and involved people ; doctors, nurses and parent to promote understanding about the instruction ; and the follow-up after the children had been discharged from the hospitals. Concerning curriculum and instruction ; most teachers usually used texts andexercise books published by the department of acacemic and private publishers according to the national curriculum of the education in their instructional orgnization, especially the young children emphasis were placed on drawing and painting, and doing exercises. Instruction was provided through classroom instruction and instruction at the patients' beds. Instructional assessment was mainly observation and checking students' work
