To develop the instructional process which enhanced the characteristics of elementary school students to construct the knowledge based on constructivism and to evaluate the instructional process enhancing the characteristics of elementary school students to construct the knowledge based on constructivism. The instructional process was developed by :-1) synthesizing elementary school students' characteristics to construct the knowledge based on constructivism 2) synthesizing the learning conditions that enhanced the students' characteristics to construct the knowledge based on constructivism 3) synthesizing the instructional process pursuant to the learning conditions that enhanced the students' characteristics to construct the knowledge based on constructivism. The sample used for evaluating the developed instructional process was 37 grade four students at Thai-Niyom Song Krow School. The evaluation took place before and after implementing the developed process. The research findings were as follows:- 1. The elementary school students' characteristics to construct the knowledge based on constructivism consisted of self-regulation behaviors, social skills and inquiry skills. 2. There were four steps in the instructional process enhancing the characteristics of elementary school students to construct the knowledge based on constructivism, namely 1) the cognitive conflict which the students must create a conflict in their thinking resulting from the contradiction of their prior knowledge and the newly perceived information 2) the searching response which the students must organize in to groups to look for possible answers to reduce the cognitive conflict that might arise 3) the understanding check-up which the students must construct their own knowledge through the social negotiation 4) the knowledge application which the students must apply the acquired knowledge to some other contexts. 3. The self-regulation behaviors and inquiry skills of most students should be improved, however, their social skills were at the fair level. 4. After the treatment students possessed a higher scores in self-regulation behaviors, social skills and inquiry skills than before treatment at the 0.05 level of significance
