The World Investment Report 2001 is the eleventh volume in this series covering global trends and developments relating to foreign direct investment (FDI) and transnational corporations (TNCs). The report analyses the geography of FDI, as well as patterns and shifts in the locational distribution of FDI, at the national, regional and international levels. WIR 2001's special topic is linkages between foreign affiliates of TNCs and local companies in developing countries as a means of enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic enterprise sector.
