SUMMARY
There is no widely-acceptable legal framework governing the multimodal transport of goods and the proliferation of diverse approaches to this problem has prompted the secretariat to prepare an analysis of the rules and regulations on multimodal transport adopted at national, regional and subregional levels in recent years. The document concludes that the desired uniformity of law has not yet been achieved and clearly requires treatment in a global forum on a priority basis. The addendum contains a comparative table summarizing the information in the main document. [English only]
