The present document includes the following information: (i) Updated list of ongoing and proposed projects by Divisions and Branches. A clear distinction has been made between ongoing and proposed projects; (ii) Whenever posssible, projects clustered by broad areas of activities; (iii) Introductory narrative, including an indication of objectives and overall strategy in terms of substantive orientation for each Division; (iv) For each project, the expected duration/completion and budget (for ongoing projects the figures indicate the existing unspent balance at 31 December 2000). (i) Ongoing projects which are expected to continue through 2001; (ii) Projects proposed as a result of specific requests received from beneficiaries; (iii) Projects proposed by the secretariat in implementation of the mandates of UNCTAD X and/or relevant resolutions of the General Assembly of the United Nations
