Summary: The study gives an account of recent international developments aimed at facilitating electronic commerce, and reviews legal issues which are considered to constitute impediments to the use of electronic means of communication in international trade. It provides an analysis of the solutions provided in the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Commerce and other existing legal texts. In addition, it includes a number of suggestions and proposals for consideration by Governments and commercial parties
