การเปรียบเทียบวิธีการประมาณแบบช่วงสำหรับพารามิเตอร์ ของการแจกแจงแบบปัวส์ซอง / สุภลักษณ์ ประเสิรฐสังข์ = A comparison on methods of interval estimation for parameter of Poisson distribution / Suphalak Prasertsang
The objective of this study is to compare the interval estimation methods for the parameter of the Poisson distribution by 4 methods ; Normal Method, Chi-Square method, Bayesian Method, and Warden method . The consideration in this study is to control their confidence level and comparing average confidence lengths for each method. The comparison of average confidence interval lengths will be made only those methods that can be controlled the confidence levels. The method having shortest average confidence interval lengths is considered to be the best. Consider with sample size 2 to 50 and parameter of Poisson distribution (λ) at two levels; λ ranges from 0.1 to 0.9 increasing by 0.1, λ ranges from 1.0 to 20.0 increasing by 1.0, all of which are considered at confidence level 90%, 95% and 99%. The data is generated through the Monte Carlo Simulation technique. The experiment is repeated 2,000 times under each case. The study gives the same result for every given confidence interval and the average confidence interval length varies directly with confidence level and A but varies indirectly with sample size. The conclusions of this study are as follows: if n < 30 , when 0.0 < λ ≤3.0 the confidence levels of Bayesian method are not lower than the given confidence levels and the average confidence interval lengths are shortest, when 3.0 < λ ≤7.0 the confidence levels of Warden method are not lower than the given confidence levels and the average confidence interval lengths are shortest and when 7.0 < λ ≤ 20.0 confidence levels of Normal method are not lower than the given confidence levels and the average confidence internal lengths are shortest. if n ≤30 ,when 0 . 0 < λ ≤2. 0 the confidence levels of Bayesian method are not lower than the given confidence levels and the average confidence interval lengths are shortest , when 2.0< λ ≤ 3.0 the confidence levels of Warden method are not lower than the given confidence levels and the average confidence interval lengths are shortest and when 3.0 < λ ≤20.0 confidence levels of Normal method are not lower than the given confidence levels and the average confidence interval lengths are shortest.
