แนวทางการพัฒนาจุดเชื่อมต่อการขนส่งผู้โดยสารทางน้ำและทางบกตามแนวแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา กรุงเทพมหานคร / จิรังรัก ห้วยหงษ์ทอง = Development guidelines for water and land connecting points of passengers along the Chao Phraya River Bangkok Metropolis / Jirungruk Huayhongthong
The objective of this research is to study the characteristics of passenger transportation which transfering from the piers to the destination, the problems and obstracles of journey, the trend estimation of water and land passengers's transport, as well as proposing guidelines to develope the water and land connecting points to be more efficiency. The study reveals that the trips and the amount of passengers will be more densely between rush hours in the morning and afternoon of working days. Most of the journeys have the origin or destination points near waterway. For going in and out the piers, most people choose buses. The choices of mode depends on the distance between piers and origin-destination points. Radious of pier survice depends on the survice of public transport and the accessibility. The problems of journey occur at the connecting point and during the journeys. The problems of connecting points are both gerneral problems and specific ones with different size of passengers. Most of problems are physical and management factors. The over demands which are more than the carrying capacity service system cause transport problems. These outcomes are from the lack of suitable transportation planning. About the future trend of water-land passengers transfer, factors sush as the trend of land use and built-up area, transport system in the future, the future amount of water passengers, the policy of promoting water transport and the oppotunity for water transport development were considered. It has been found that more passengers by waterway will increase. The following effects are also the increase in trip demand and other problems. Therefore, the guidlines for development should be problem solution at the present and prevent the future ones, expecially at the connecting points which are the gather place of passengers and journey activities. The guidlines are on the recommendation to decrease the overcrowd at the pires, make the convenient accessibility, manage the activities to be in order, promote the safety service, provide the trip facilities as well as the visual attraction. The proposal has been done for every pier in general and also for the specific piers according to their size, in terms of physical improvement and management. Besides, the water transport and the related by land system are additionally suggested. Such development is belived to encourage the use of water transport and strengthen the efficiency the transport system of Bangkok.
