The purpose of this research was to develop a parent education program in young thalassemic child rearing practice by using case method. The subjects were 5 parents of young thalassemic children who received the service at Blood Disease Clinic, Maharaj Hospital Nakornratchasima. The research findings were as follows: 1.The developed program was an implementation to educate parents of young thalassemic children to have knowledge on thalassemia disease and young thalassemic child rearing practice and to practise with their children correctly according to the knowledge. The program consisted of principles, objectives, contents, users, procedures, media and program evaluation. The program users could be early childhood educators, special education teachers, nurses or officials in hospitals or related departments. The procedures consisted of 3 phases 1 namely phase 1 preparing, phase 2 conducting, and phase 3 evaluating. The program media were a manual for program implementation, cassette tapes on 3 cases, activities plan, picture books, brochure and data collecting instruments. 2.The field testing results were: 2.1. The knowledge of the subjects concerning thalassemia disease and young thalassemic child rearing practice were found to be increased after the experiment. 2.2. After the experiment, the subjects were found to improve their child rearing practices according to medical principles.
