The purposes of this research are to study the use of the card catalogs and the students’ success in locating the desired books in Ramkhamhaeng University Library. The data were gathered by the interview and questionnaire, and further analyzed by percentage, an average and a standard deviation. The major research findings are as follows : 1. The students used card catalog for locating the desired books in the library according to the reading assignments from the instructors. 2. The card catalog primarily used was the title card, author and subject cards were used accordingly. Items that were looked on the card catalogs were title, author, subject, and call number. 3. 89.17 percent of the card catalog users succeeded in finding the desired card and 83.33 percent succeeded in locating the books they want.
