This purpose of this thesis is to study the teaching behavior of science teachers in lower secondary schools under the Expansion of basic Education Opportunity Project under the jurisdiction of the office of Yasothon Primary Education in terms of warm – up activities, teaching techniques, development of scientific procedures, teaching aids and assessment. The findings are as follows: 1. As for warm – up activities, most teachers use revision of the previous lesson and discussion about the lesson. 2. The most widely used teaching technique is lecturing. Most teachers write major points on the board, ask students some questions, ask them to take notes and summarize the lesson. 3. In terms of the development of scientific procedures, it is mostly found that the teachers do not provide the students with such skills. 4. Most teachers use a textbook, the teacher’ s manual, other reference books and the blackboard as teaching aids. They are used to convey absolute ideas and principles. The aids provided are appropriate to the number of the students. 5. Most of the teachers assess their students by testing their knowledge of the content through questions and exercises.
