สมรรถภาพทางกายของนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษาในโรงเรียนราษฎร์ ในจังหวัดมหาสารคาม / บุญเรือง ไตรคุ้มดัน = The physical fitness of the secondary school students in public and private schools in Maha Sarakham province
The purposes of this study were to investigate and compare the physical fitness of secondary school students in public and private schools in Maha Sarakham Province. Also it was aimed to set up the physical fitness norms for these students. A stratified random sampling method was used to select 1440 students from public and private schools with equal boys and girls from each grade level. The International Committee for Standardized Physical Fitness Test was used in collecting the data. The obtained data were then analyzed to obtain the means and standard deviations. Z-text was also employed to determine the significant difference. It was found that: 1. Physical fitness norms for both boys and girls students were also constructed and between 0.83 – 5.00 percent of students were in excellent group, 8.33 – 17.50 percent in good group, 60.83 – 73.33 percent in moderate group, 10.00 – 19.17 percent in fair group and 0.83 – 4.17 percent in poor group. 2. Physical fitness of boy students in public schools in Mathayom I Mathayom 2 Mathayomsuksa 3 and Mathayomsuksa 5 were significantly better than these in private schools at the .05 level. In the other grade levels there was no significant difference at the .05. 3. Physical fitness of girl students in public schools in Mathayom 2, Mathayom 3 and Mathayomsuksa 5 were significantly better than those in private schools at the .05 level. In the other grade levels there was no significant difference at the .05. 4. The physical fitness of both all boy students and girl students from all grade levels in public schools were significantly better than those of boys and girls in private schools at the .05 level.
