The objective of this thesis is to develop a program in order to retrieve POWER/VS’s data file and save it on a magnetic tape in the format that can be processed by POWER/VS. The program is tested with DOS/VS of IBM 3031 installed at the Computer Service Center, Chulalongkorn University. After studying POWER/VS’s process and the characteristics of POWER/VS’s data file, a program is developed. During the program being executed, the message will be sent to the operator to select the jobs to be saved. The data are classified into three types these are READ, LIST and PUNCH. The status report is printed to tell the operator to delete the jobs from the queue file. This makes the disk area available for another jobs.
