การวิเคราะห์พฤติกรรมการพยาบาลของพยาบาลวิชาชีพที่ปฏิบัติงาน ในหน่วยอภิบาลผู้ป่วยหนัก โรงพยาบาลของรัฐ กรุงเทพมหานคร / นฤมล ปทุมารักษ์ = An analysis of the nursing behaviors of professional nurses working in government hospitals' intensive care units, Bangkok Metropolis / Narumon Pathumarak
The purpose of this research was to analyze the nursing behaviors performed by the professional nurse working at the intensive care units of three government hospitals located in Bangkok metropolis. The research question were (1) whether the ICU nurses performed nursing behaviors focused on person-centered or task-centered (2) whether there was any differences between nursing behaviors given to conscious patients or unconscious patients. Thirty professional nurses working in intensive care units were randomly chosen from all ICU nurses employed by three government hospitals by using simple random sampling. The research instruments developed by the researcher were the nursing behaviors observation form, and the analysis manual, including the criteria to judge nursing behaviors. The panel of experts reviewed the instruments in order to ensure the content validity. The reliability procedure was conducted on the try-out data assess the internal consistency. One hundred and eighty nursing behaviors were recorded during the time the nurses care for the conscious and unconscious patients. The data was analyzed by using various statistical methods; mean, standard deviation, t-test and McNemar test. The summary of findings were as follows: 1. The nursing behaviors of ICU Nurse indicated person-centered care. 2. There was a significant statistical difference found between the type of care given conscious and unconscious patients at the .001 level. The data indicated that the care given the conscious patients was more person-centered than the care given the unconscious patients. 3. In the areas of 1) attentiveness gestures, 2) patient acceptance and 3) the distance between patient and nurse, there were no significant statistical differences. However there were significant statistical differences between the nursing behaviors at the .05 level, Facial expression, eye contact, respective and supportive verbal expression and touch all showed significant statistical differences.
