ความคิดเห็นของครูสอนภาษาอังกฤษระดับมัธยมศึกษาเกี่ยวกับการเรียนการสอนหัวข้อวัฒนธรรมในแบบเรียนภาษาอังกฤษ / เตือนตา ไม้จันทน์ = Opinions of teachers of English at the secondary education level concerning learning and teaching cultural topics in English textbooks / Tuantaa Maichan
The purposes of this study were to study the opinions of secondary school English teachers concerning the focus on setting objectives, the using of instructional methods, the using of instructional activities and materials and the using of measurement and evaluation methods in learning and teaching cultural topics in the following aspects : greeting and leave-taking, clothing, time, home, meals and drinks in English textbooks and to compare the opinions of government and private secondary school English teachers concerning the mentioned topics. The subjects were 129 government secondary school English teachers and 120 private secondary school English teachers. The total was 249. A set of questionnaires concerning opinions about learning and teaching cultural topics was constructed by the researcher. Then the questionnaires were sent to the subjects. The collected data were analyzed by means of percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, t-test and presented in tables with description. The results of the study were as follows : 1. Concerning the opinions of government and private secondary school English teachers in learning and teaching cultural topics in English textbooks, both groups agreed at the lower level in the focus on setting objectives, the using of instructional methods, the using of instructional activities and materials, the using of measurement and evaluation methods in learning and teaching greeting and leave-taking, clothing, time, home, meals and drinks. 2. In comparing the opinions of government and private secondary school English teachers concerning learning and teaching cultural topics, it was found that: 2.1 Government and private school English teachers’ opinions concerning the focus on setting objectives in learning and teaching greeting and leave-taking, clothing, time, home, meals and drinks were not different at the 0.05 level of significance, but their opinions concerning the focus on setting objectives in learning and teaching clothing were different at the 0.05 level of significance. 2.2 Government and private school English teachers’ opinions concerning the using of instructional methods in learning and teaching greeting and leave-taking, clothing, time, home, meals and drinks were not different at the 0.05 level of significance, but the using of instructional methods in learning and teaching clothing were different at the 0.05 level of significance. 2.3 Government and private school English teachers’ opinions concerning the using of instructional activities and materials in learning and teaching greeting and leave-taking, clothing, time, home and meals and drinks were not different at the 0.05 level of significance. 2.4 Government and private school English teachers’ opinions concerning the using of measurement and evaluation methods in learning and teaching greeting and leave-taking, clothing, time, home and meals and drinks were not different at the 0.05 level of significance.
