การใช้วิธี "โลกแคบ" ศึกษาพฤติกรรมการสื่อสารของผู้ป่วยกามโรค กรณีศึกษา ณ ศูนย์กามโรคเขต 1 สระบุรี / เตือนใจ เพทยสุวรรณ = The use of the "Small World" method in the study of communicative behavior of venereal disease patients: a case study at regional V.D. center I Saraburi / Tuanchai Debyasuvarn
The major purposes of this study were: To understand communication behavior among venereal disease patients, and to understand the relationship between communication behavior of venereal disease patients and secio-economic condition and also the dyadic tie of patients. The total population for this study contained 92 venereal disease patients visiting the Saraburi regional V.D. Center I. Only those who had received treatment at this center were selected. Six hypotheses were formulated and tested in this study. 1. The communication behavior among the patients is possibly under a “Small world” condition. 2. The patients find out the information on service and girls for entertainment from the homophylous dyads rather than of the heterophylous one. 3. The patients find out the information on service and girls for entertainment from the closely related dyads rather than those of with distant relationship. 4. The patients find out information concerning medical treatment from the homophylous dyads rater than from the heterophylous ones. 5. The patients get the more proper information of medical treatment from the dyads with distant relationship rather than those with close tie. 6. There will be a significant relationship between capacity of the proper information of medical treatment and socio-economic benefit. The results of the testing of all hypotheses indicated that hypothesis I was partly confirm, hypotheses 2,3,4,5 and 6 were confirmed. The result of hypothesis 6 testing also indicated that there is a positive association. According to the result of this study the researcher suggested that those who concerned with venereal disease control have to realize the importance of information processing through mass media for the people can perceive easily, and for reducing the “Taboo” of venereal disease. Also the researcher suggested that the government can make use of human resources such as pharmacist and the patients as a media of information, that will be helpful for the venereal disease control activities.
