The objectives of this research are to study the popularity of mobile phone in Thailand and the main factors leading to its popularity. The future trend of mobile phone using in Thailand is also included. The results of the study showed that more than half of the households in Bangkok and suburbs own at least one mobile phone. The 800 Mhz. system is comparably more preferable than the 900 Mhz. system, owing to its better signal in city areas. Convenience, handiness, time-saving and speediness are among the main advantages of mobile phone as indicated by users. Moreover, traffic problem and the inadequacy of home phone are also pointed out as factors related to mobile phone using. About half of the users studied expressed their intention to have one or two additional mobile phone, whereas another half seemed to be satisfied with the only one possessed. This is an indication that the trend of mobile phone using is continually increasing.
