Outlines main structural features of standard spoken Thai (ST), the official language of Thailand and some subclassifications, following current techniques of American description linguistics of the "item-and-arrangement" school. Present results in terms of morphemes and order. Cites Central Plains dialect as most closely resembling the standard language, and comments on ability of native Thai speakers to understand Central Plains dialect or the standard spoken language.
